Introduction

You may see this response when connecting or sending through JetEmail SMTP: 421 4.7.1 Rate limit exceeded. Try again later. It means your sending has been temporarily throttled because you’ve exceeded the allowed rate for your account.

Who is affected?

This applies only to free accounts. Paid plans are not subject to this same rate limit.

What to do

  1. Wait and retry — You cannot send more mail until the current limit window passes. After that, SMTP will accept traffic again.
  2. Limits are not public — We do not publish the exact thresholds or time windows. If you hit this error, reduce your send rate or pause until you can connect successfully again.
  3. Upgrade — If you need higher or predictable throughput, consider upgrading from a free account.
If you believe you’re seeing this in error or need help choosing a plan, contact JetEmail Support.
