Introduction

This error occurs when attempting to authenticate with JetEmail’s SMTP server from an IP address that isn’t authorized to use your SMTP credentials.

How IP Authorization Works

IP authorization is a security measure we implement to protect your SMTP credentials from unauthorized use. Here’s how it works:

  1. IP Restrictions: You can specify which IP addresses are allowed to use your SMTP credentials
  2. Authentication check: When you connect, we verify:
    • Your SMTP credentials (username/password)
    • Your connection’s source IP address
  3. Authorization verification: Even with valid credentials, we’ll reject the connection if the IP isn’t in your allowed list

How to Fix This Error

  1. Log into your JetEmail Dashboard at dash.jetemail.com
  2. Navigate to OutboundSmarthost
  3. Click on your SMTP user
  4. Add your IP address to the IP restriction list

If you’re using cloud services or multiple servers, make sure to add all potential outbound IP addresses to your restriction list.
